In 1973, Supreme Lobster founder Dominic Stramaglia received his first shipment of live lobsters – and placed them in a child’s wading pool.  By the next morning, every lobster had floated to the top, victims of a burned-out compressor and a hard lesson in refrigeration.

But Dominic wasn’t discouraged.  Despite having no experience in the seafood industry, he tried again.  And again.  His persistence, entrepreneurial spirit, and vision laid the foundation for what would become one of the most respected names in seafood distribution.

More than 50 years later, Supreme Lobster and Seafood has grown into a multi-million dollar business and a trusted wholesale distributor serving clients nationwide.  From coast to coast, supermarkets, restaurants, retailers, and foodservice operators rely on us for exceptional service, outstanding value, and the highest quality fresh and frozen seafood – delivered daily.

We’ve come a long way from that wading pool.  Today, our live lobster inventory is housed in four state-of-the-art tanks capable of holding up to 5,000 pounds – proof that dedication and determination can turn a small dream into a national success.
